By using this website and Roads Automation Lab you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

What the tools are

The Roads Automation Lab tools are free aids for reviewing road designs. They apply published design criteria (by default AASHTO A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, 2018, metric) or values you enter yourself, to data you export from your design software.

Engineering responsibility

Results support, and do not replace, the engineer's judgement. Verify against the governing standard of your project. The tools do not know every condition of your project, the edition or local amendments of the standard that governs it, or exceptions approved by the authority. You remain fully responsible for your design, for checking any result before using it, and for any decision you make. The tools must not be used as the only basis for approving, sealing or constructing a design.

No warranty

The website and tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. Standard tables are provided for reference and may contain errors or be out of date.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, CivilAutomationLab and its owner are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the website or tools, including design errors, delays, rework or lost profit.

Your files

Your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded (see the privacy policy). You are responsible for having the right to use the data you check.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the website, overload it, bypass usage limits if they are introduced, or use it for any unlawful purpose. Do not copy, resell or redistribute the tools or the engine without written permission.

Intellectual property

The website, the tools, the Roads Automation Lab and RDAI names and logos and the CivilAutomationLab brand belong to their owners. Civil 3D and AutoCAD are trademarks of Autodesk, Inc.; this website is not affiliated with or endorsed by Autodesk. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.

Changes

We may change the tools or these terms at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
